A Lifetime of Acting
Matty Weiland began their acting career on stage when they were 10 years old. Eventually a love of performing would take Matty to vocal performance, where they found singing to be one of the greatest joys in life. Matty would go on to star in both short and feature length films across the state of Iowa.
Current Projects
As of recent, Matty has been facing more and more challenges as an actor. In the summer of 2024, Matty began working with acting coach, Edward Gelhaus. Working with Edward and the House of Haus has already given Matty a number of tools to use. Soon this page will be home to a new self tapes and a fully completed reel!

Matty acts both on stage and screen. I am also available for Behind the scenes work. (Assistant Directing, Grip work, and Production Assistant work.)

TORCH - Directed by Matty Weiland
At a certain point I felt like I had to take the directors chair. TORCH is my first short film that debuted at the Snake Alley Festival of Film in Burlington, Iowa in 2022. This film will always be special to me. One of the most important things any actor can do is put themselves in every position. This film taught me so many lessons and has allowed me to show that I am more than an actor, I am a filmmaker.
Soon, I hope to venture into my next writing and directing endeavor with something different than this action, thriller.
